About Carrie

I am an instrumental music teacher in Colorado that has specialized in teaching beginning students in band and orchestra. I currently teach privately as well as in Jeffco public schools teaching 5th grade orchestra. I have over ten years of experience in teaching lessons as well as band and orchestra at the elementary and middle school levels. I received my Bachelor of Music Education degree from Colorado State University in 2009.

I started taking piano lessons when I was 5 and joined band playing flute in 5th grade. I enjoy learning new instruments and am proficient in all band and orchestra instruments, as well as piano and ukulele. I studied flute and piccolo with Dr. Michelle Stanley at CSU, and have also studied privately on saxophone, baritone, and percussion. I have played violin in the Jeffco Community Orchestra since 2015.

Besides music, my other hobbies include biking, disc golf, skiing, and taking care of my dog, cat, and fish. I grew up in Lakewood, CO and currently live in Arvada with my husband.
